Kate Spade New York Cobble Hill Devin

Everyone loves a good Kate Spade bag and even though this is not meant to carry diapers, that's exactly what I did:)  I love that this purse looks slim, sleek and gorgeous, but the inside is also roomy enough for the diapering needs!  I have two kids, but Tanner is now potty trained, so I'm back to just carrying diapers for a toddler.  This is the perfect little bag for running errands because it will hold all the essentials and won't weigh you down.  Kate Spade is  known for their high quality products and attention to details and this bag is no exception.

There are two ways to carry the bag.  The first is with this rolled tote handle.  It is not removable, which doesn't bother me too much because when I am using the messenger strap I just lay this handle to the back.  I do wish it was a little longer so that the bag could be worn on my shoulder, but it works great as a grab handle and toting on my forearm.

The sides of the bag have this really classy looking buckle detail that I am loving.

The back has one longer zippered compartment that can easily fit my phone, checkbook, pens, makeup, etc.

The bottom of the bag doesn't have any sort of feet, but since it is a real leather bag it should be pretty durable and easy to clean, especially with the black color.

The bag opens and closes with a magnet and I was worried that it wouldn't be strong enough, but it is a tough, little magnet that will keep your belongings secure.

The flap of the bag also has this really pretty zippered pocket and you can see the nice detail of the leather zipper pull.  The inside lining is a soft, silky striped material that is suuuper cute!

What is really cool is that this flap pocket goes all the way down to the bottom of the bag, so if you had anything that was taller that could be folded over it could easily go into this compartment.

The main interior has two slip pockets on the front side and a zippered pocket on the back side.  I was able to put all of my diapering needs, plus my wallet in the center.  I put some smaller toys in one of the slip pockets and some snacks in the other.  I packed medical necessities into the back zippered pocket and was good to go!

The optional messenger strap is my favorite way to carry the bag, but I do wish it had the option to be just a little bit longer when I wear it cross-body.

The buckle detail on this strap is really cute and it just adds something special to the whole look.

When I attach the messenger strap I place it in front of the tote strap so that the tote strap will lay nicely behind the bag.

Of course the beautiful Kate Spade logo adds a lot of glamour to this bag!

You all know I love having a dust cover to keep my bags looking nice and this dust cover makes me so happy with the little gold foil lettering.  It is pretty much adorable!

Overall this bag would be great for a mama who wants to start carrying less, but still wants to have room for the essentials.  This purse is made of such soft leather, gold metal hardware, and a silky striped lining that is so timeless.  I have really enjoyed using this bag and I think you will too:)

Pros and Cons:

Pros:
  • looks slim, but packs quite a lot
  • great details
  • made of excellent materials like super, soft leather
  • two carrying options
  • great organizational pockets
  • pretty dust cover to keep your bag looking great

Cons:
  • no feet on bottom
  • leather requires some taking care of with conditioner
  • may be a little small to be used as a regular, everyday diaper bag
  • no sippy cups/ bottles because if they spilled the bag might be ruined
  • the interior is spot clean only - not removable like the leather Lily Jade bags

Ju Ju Be Be Prepared

Today I have another awesome Ju Ju Be bag to share with you and this one will help you to carry everything but the kitchen sink.  It is the largest bag that Ju Ju Be makes, so it is perfect for multiples in diapers, twins, traveling, working or just over-packing:)  All of the function in this bag is perfect for carrying a lot, while still maintaining organization.

There are these great tote straps on this bag that have a little padding in them to make them comfortable to wear on your shoulder.  The length is good, but if the bag is super full then there is less room for the bag to fit under your arm and it gets a little awkward.

When the bag is full I like to use the optional messenger strap.  It is adjustable in length and it has a slip grip pad so that your bag will stay put on your shoulder.  I also like that it is removable because sometimes I don't have this bag very full and I like to carry it just with the tote straps.

The back has a long slip pocket that goes across the whole length of the bag and this is where the memory foam changing pad goes.

Side shot showing the bottle pocket .  You can also see the D-ring that is on the side for the messenger strap and you can use these rings to attach stroller clips.  The width of the bag is nice looking when the bag is lightly packed, but when you fully pack it, it can get pretty fat.

Most of Ju Ju Be's bags have elastic bottle pockets on their bags, but this bag has a special magnetic flap that covers the bottles.  I like that these flaps make the bag look a little nicer, but you can't fit larger water bottles unless you just leave the flap open.

The bottle pocket material is lined with 3M Thinsulate that keeps bottles cold/hot for up to 3 hours.

From the top of the bag you can see there are a lot of cool features and pockets.  You have the back slip pocket where one of the tote straps is sewn in and another large slip pocket on the front where the other strap is located.  Having the straps close to the pockets is great because when you are using the messenger strap you can easily tuck these handles away for a cleaner look.  You can also see that the main compartment opens with a U shaped zipper to really give you good visibility on the inside.

The front and back slip pockets can both be closed with a snap to hold everything in place securely.

I love that Ju Ju Be thinks about what mommy will need to carry and where her belongings will go.  This is the famous "mommy pocket"!  Plenty of space for a phone, sunglasses, wallet, keys, makeup, lotion, gum, etc.

The front panel also has these two picture pockets where you could obviously put pictures, but some moms like to use these as extra pockets for smaller items.

Another great feature of the mommy pocket are the gussets on the sides to keep everything from falling out when you unzip the pocket all the way down.

The changing pad is extra big for this bag, so if you have a squirmy baby this changing pad will be big enough to make sure they stay on it.

This is probably the coolest feature of this bag!  The zipper does not stop at the edge of the bag, but continues all the way down the side to give you tons of room for visibility and organization.

And of course there are these awesome gussets!  I love them!  They give you a way to get into your bag easier without things falling all over the place.

There are two mesh pockets on the front inside panel, plus a large slip pocket behind those.  The mesh pockets also have little loops for you to attach things such as a pacifier.

This slip pocket is where I like to tuck the little flap from the top, but you could also pack things that need to be grabbed for quickly since it is right at the top.

Look at all this space!  The inside of this bag really is incredibly spacious.  Having the bag open up super wide gives you the convenience of finding and organizing your items with ease.   The back panel of the interior has two more mesh pockets with loops.  Notice that the pockets don't go all the way down.  I actually like this because you can organize smaller items in the pockets without having them get lost in a big pocket and then you can have all of your larger items in the center.  There are also two long mesh pockets on the sides that are great for things like a rolled up blanket, or a larger water bottle.

Yay for feet! I love having some sort of protection on the bottom of my bags.  With this bag being so wide I wish there was one more in the center, but they seem to hold the bag up pretty well.

Overall, this is the mother of all diaper bags:)  It can be used as a regular diaper bag, or it can become a suitcase when you want it to be.  I love having the extra space when I need it!  I only have one in diapers, so I tend to save this bag for longer days out, or trips, not my regular everyday diaper bag.  I think I would feel like I was lugging a suit case around the grocery store:)  Some moms need more space though and if you feel like you always want to be prepared with everything, then this is the bag for you!

Pros and Cons

  • plenty of space
  • lots of organization
